Reasonable stay near the centre

The hotel location is pretty good. It is within walking distance to the main attractions. The staff were trained well in customer service. They seemed attentive.

Check-in was a little slow. The air conditioning was not adjustable in the room I had. It was either on at a cold setting or off. I did not get a second cup of tea.

the family room was spacious. breakfast included many options. location was very close to shopping. the staff was friendly. there was free parking. a bus stop was nearby.

the bathroom had some limescale. i did not want to use it much.

mediocre experience, some issues noticed

bad noise broken ac

The room felt quite cold because the ac unit wasn't working correctly, I messed around with the settings for ages. also, the noise from outside was really bad. It kept me awake. the staff didn't mention any of this at check-in, so i wasn't prepared.

cramped bathroom sloppy housekeeping

i was a little disappointed with a couple of things. the bathroom was quite cramped (i seemed like i was constantly bumping into things). the sealant around the sink looked like it had seen better days. also, i noticed some black footprints in the bathroom after housekeeping had been in, a bit sloppy i thought.

a haven of hospitality

lovely people advantageous location

the staff were efficient and lovely people. i found the location advantageous. it was within walking distance of both the train station and the cathedral. i could also visit the nene valley railway nearby.

the main issue i faced was the noticeable smell of raw sewage. it permeated the hotel grounds and car park. i could detect it in the reception area, and it affected the front rooms because the windows did not fully seal.

The breakfast included a vast choice of food. i had many options available to me, and the food tasted fresh. It was a very good start to the morning. there was coffee and juices readily available

The hotel is situated a few blocks from the town centre. i could easily walk to nearby shops and attractions. the proximity to the train station also made access convenient. For travelling by public transport.
